- Vorraussetzung ist natürlich die 2 Erweiterung Wrath of the Lich King!

Hab mir grade mal folgendes Szenario vorgestellt:
.. and so on

* Current plans are that, per account, once you unlock a DK you may create one per server, across all servers, even those you do not have characters on (thanks, Holyinferno, for a better way of saying it) In addition, your new DK may be any race and any faction, regardless of your initial level 55 character - faction rules apply on PvP servers.

3. New Class: Death Knight: http://pc.gamespy.com/pc/world-of-warcraft...g/872730p1.html
A. This is a Hero Class, the first of more to come (though, not necessarily in this expansion - the plan, for now, is for a new hero class each expansion)
Source: http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.h...28862&sid=1

* In order to unlock this class, a player must have a character of at least level 55. The Death Knights (as of now) will be completing specific quests tailored for them when they first start out that will explain the character's defection, etc. They will start off in a floating necropolis in the EPL, then do quests in their own (new) area within EPL that will explain the mechanics and storyline. Update: Knights of the Ebon Hand is a new order that has been created for the Death Knights, probably in line with reintroducing (or rehabilitating) them into the world. As such, the Death Knight home in the new Plaguelands area is called Ebon Hold and this, presumably, is where the Death Knight trainers will be.

* Upon obtaining the Death Knight, it will not take the place of an existing character - it will be a new character (so, no, my hunter will not be a Death Knight)
Source: http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.h...40924&sid=1

* Death Knights will start at a higher level than normal - level 55.

* They have said that there will be no new character slots added at this point. So, if your realm is full to the brim of alts, you have to delete one of them in order to create the Death Knight. Update: While this is still the current plan, Neth has said that it's not set in stone yet, so we can still hope that slots will be added!

* The Lich King will guide you to become a Death Knight.

* Current plans are that once you unlock your Death Knight you can create one per realm across all realms (even those you do not have characters on) per account.

* Starting equipment will consist of various greens and blues. Update: DKs during the WWI demo started with green armor, with stats along the line of DPS Warriors; they also started with a blue 2h sword "Massacre" that dealt 121-191 damage, 3.1 speed, 51.3 DPS, +22 Strength, + 23 Hit Rating

B. DKs will be a plate wearing tank/dps hybrid, able to use caster and melee abilities
* They can use 2h swords or dual wield - no shields, only bladed weapons (correction: it has been stated DKs will be able to use maces as well)
Source: http://pc.ign.com/articles/872/872791p2.html

* Meant ideally to tank against magic-damage-dealing bosses; Will have an "anti-magic shield" ability that diminishes the amount of magic damage taken (see possible spells/abilities sections below).

* The intent as of now is to have the character available to both factions, across all races. DKs will not have 'racial' abilities, but will keep those racials of their base race.
Source: http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.h...09029&sid=1
http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.h...00011&sid=1

* They will have their own mount - a skeletal deathcharger, the epic version aquired through a quest

* They will have their own talent trees, and will be able to have some sort of summoning abilities (undead)

* The Death Knight will have its own itemization as well as share the appropriate items.

* They have their own, unique energy system.

C. The new energy system for Death Knights is focused around the use of runes, rather than mana or energy. The runes fall into three categories - blood (damage-oriented), frost (control-oriented), and unholy (utility and DOT mechanics).
* The runes can be combined in different ways, then etched onto the Death Knight's weapon. The energy of the runes is depleted when an ability is used, and not available until the cool down has expired (10 seconds, confirmed). The number of runes used seems to be six at this point.
* Runic Power: builds up over the duration of a fight by using rune abilities, similar in mechanic to a warrior's rage; the Death Knight can then use abilities similar in mechanics to a rogue's finishing moves

D. Possible new spells/abilities include:
Talent Trees can be found here: http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classe...t/talents2.html

- Plague Strike: deals weapon damage +37; plagues the enemy, causing 350 shadow damage over 12 seconds

- Raise Dead: can raise a fallen comrade or enemy as a ghoul (lasts for 2 minutes); similar in utility and strength to hunter or warlock pet; when players have their toons raised in this fashion, they will have the option of controlling the ghoul - complete with the ability to leap, rend, stun, huddle to avoid burst damage, and other abilities; Note: may not be allowed in Arenas; also, if the raised target is not a humanoid, Corpse Dust must be used

- Death and Decay (AoE): Similar to consecration, complete with a chance to be feared; deals 100 damage every 2 seconds to enemies in the target area (modified by AP)

- Degeneration: deals 60% weapon damage and inflicts a disease (91 damage over 21 seconds); corrupts existing HoTs to increase the disease effect; Stacks up to 3 times

- Mind Freeze: cast interrupt; also deals 100 frost damage (modified by AP); prevents spells from the interrupted school of thought from being cast for up to 4 seconds

- Obliterate: 100% weapon damage; 330 +122 frost damage for each disease on the enemy (consumes the disease in the process)

- Empowered Rune Weapon: activates one of each rune type

- Icebound Fortitude: use all runic power to become immune to stun; increases armor by 50% for up to 12 seconds

Uncategorized Spells/Abilities:

- Unholy Embrace: Instant Cast. 5 min cooldown; Target is embraced by a silhouette of darkness for 6 seconds, corrupting any healing spells and effects cast upon or currently affecting the target to cause damage for 50% of their healing potential instead of restoring health. Any damage shields cast upon or currently affecting the target will also be instantly consumed, dealing 50% of their absorption potential in damage. Once afflicted with Unholy Embrace, the target cannot be afflicted with Unholy Embrace again for 1 minute.

- Blood Boil: a damage-over-time ability, and after the end of the duration, it lights up two of your Blood runes

- Death Coil: similar to a warlock's, only without the fear component; uses all remaining runic power, dealing 600 damage to a non-undead target or healing 900 damage on a friendly target

- Death Strike: unknown, but it costs one blood and one frost rune

- Strangulate: depletes remaining runic power, deals moderate damage, but silences the target for up to 5 seconds (finishing ability)
