there is no class that can beat a Gladiator 1v1 end game.
Hier mal ein Auszug von einem lvl 50 Gladi in KAion, wo das Spiel ja schon 1 Jahr glaub ich raus ist.
Hello-
Well I truly love the Gladiator class, even though I will not be playing it in Aion-US, and every time I come to these forums all I read is how Gladiators are the worst class in Aion...etc. And, believe me I can totally relate to you because thats how I felt when I first started my Gladiator. But the truth of the matter is, there is no class that can beat a Gladiator 1v1 end game. I won't go into the basics or advanced theories of Gladiator, that is all included in my guide, but I will just tell you what is, and what isn't, and you can make up your mind from there. Plus I think it is a good way that Ultima can share our knowledge with the community.
So a few tips (not sure if these have been discussed on the forums already, but I didn't see):
1) You may have noticed that when you were level 25 in the abyss you could solo 4 monsters at one time, and now you are level 45 and can barely solo 1 level 45 orc. This is how it is for all classes. Further more you need to prepare yourself for always using potions/scrolls/food...etc. ALWAYS! All classes have to do this end-game, but especially Gladiator. Glad is very gear/potion dependent. Is it expensive? Yes, but that's what Glad is, very kina-consuming.
2) Never, ever, ever, ever equip a weapon (2H-sword, Pole, Sword, Mace) which does not have % attack speed (sword/mace only right hand). I don't care how many slots it has, how awesome the stats are, don't do it. Also I would like to mention here, never get a glove without % attack speed, never get a boot without % run speed...etc. All of your armor MUST have % speed, it is imperative. Unless it has % speed don't upgrade. I used a level 30s boots all the way until level 50.
3) There is a cheaper solution for gloves at level 46. There is a repeatable quest you do in the desert, for platinum coins. Get 1000 coins and buy the healer gloves. Especially because at this point I don't think you have the money to buy a yellow 1H sword and go dual wield. These gloves give the mot % attack speed out of any gloves in the game currently. It is 8%. Even abyss end game gear for glad gives only 7%. These gloves even though they are for healers, are amazing for glads that use 2Hers. My recommendation for 2Hers would be a 2H-sword instead of a pole, not going to get into the numbers for it right now, but remember to make sure it has % attack speed again. If you really want to be stacked with minimal kina usage, I went this build before going to the abyss: from the plat coin quest get chest, pants, gloves (healer ones), 2H-sword. And for your shoulder and boots get them from the dungeon on the asmodian side. All this armor is FREE! You can save your kina for the enchants/stones because they are very important. Also I should mention when you do get your 2H-sword from the coin quest enchant it with a blind stone. Don't do stun or anything else, do blind. You will rock assassins. They attack very fast but will miss all their attacks, and the proc on that is higher than advertised.
4) Now that armor is done I need to tell you about 2 very important stigmas that EVERY glad should have equipped at ALL times. One is simple it is the snare, a no brainer. The other is a lvl 37 stigma which allows you to resist all disables/CC. Having this stigma is what gives glads the edge we need. You can have great armor but without this stigma you will suck because you will just get stunned/disabled and be useless the entire fight. In fact if you have kina issues get this stigma first before working on major armor, it is that important.
5) So moving on, now you have cool armor, cool enchants and cool stigmas, but you are having a problem. You are rocking in PvP but everyone just runs away from you when they get low hp. Time to get a bow. Yes a bow! You want to get a bow with slow effects put those stones/enchants in it. Now you don't have to be too skilled to pull this off but just have good control. As you may know you can not switch weapons during combat. So you are fighting, fighting, get this guy down to 40% and he starts to run, immediately you throw out your snare, catch up to him get 2 more hits in and snare is over, now he is at 10% but still running and approaching a safe zone. You follow him manually, which means don't press your attack skills just follow, get out of combat, switch to your bow, and slow him down while you catch up. They will never be able to run away.
6) So now you have tried everything, but you still can't seem to be left alone. You want to just level up but some guy keeps killing you over and over. You try to run back to one of your guards but can't make it in time. Well this may be a little dirty, but all is fair in PvP. You want to move with short burst of speeds. This is a little bug in aion. The AI thinks you are out of range even though your character can be in range visually. So the person starts to attack but stops. This can work against range and melee classes, but more effective against melee. Just run, stop, run, stop, run stop until you get to safety. Another reason why this is effective for glad especially is because glads have a few aoe skills. These aoe skills dont require you to stand toe to toe with anyone. So you can run in burst and use your aoe skills.
Well I believe these were a few concerns that I saw, so I addressed them. Do all of this and your Glad will be unstoppable. I hope this helps everyone enjoy their glads a little more.
P.S. DW = PvE and 2H-Sword = PvP
