Darkfall Dynamic Lore System
not normal MMO stand-alone Events of which you might see for Halloween or for Christmas.
These Dynamic events allow players to not only impact the event itself but also the game and the gameworld directly.
If a specific group or a specific player does something outstanding during a Dynamic Event, they will become the inspiration for future storyline development. The event team is actively building on the outcome of past events.
They are also part of a chain of events leading up to world events, items, and/or open up new content and storylines.

Developing some tools to help make these events a lot smoother and exciting and are discussing ways in which we can make some of these available to players who wish to plan their own events.

Siege Mechanics
Major revamp of the siege and conquest mechanics

Siege Stones are a new mechanic that is being added to the siege system. Clans without a city will be required to use them in order to keep a siege going, while clans with a city may use them optionally. They will be sold from certain NPCs, much like Clan Shards and they will come in three different sizes which relate to the number of people that can bind to them.
This special Stone needs to be placed within a short time from when the siege is declared.
Siege Stones as well as Clan Stones are invulnerable during the 24 hour preparation period.
They can be used as bind spots.
Sieges will last about half the time they do now.
First the Siege Stone of the attacker becomes vulnerable. This will give the defenders a small window for a counter attack. If the Siege Stone still stands after this time expires, the siege will move to the next step.
To capture the city under siege, the attackers must first destroy a certain percentage of the cities’ walls for the Clan Stone to become vulnerable. Walls cannot be damaged by siege hammers anymore so you will be required to bring some heavier equipment along. In the case of a hamlet, the clan stone becomes vulnerable straight away. Walls can be destroyed during the 24 hour preparation period (or at any other time during the siege) but they can also be repaired. Building is completely disabled for the duration of the siege but not during the 24 hour preparation period.
The siege ends if the defenders’ Clan Stone is destroyed, if the attacker’s siege stone or asset is destroyed, or if the 3 hours pass without any of those two things happening.

Local Banking

Bank access in player owned houses. This will allow house owners to store crafting materials, loot, reagents etc in their house but it's stored locally only - meaning you do not have access to the content of this specific bank vault from other banks in the world.

Archery "love"
Jumpshot allows you to jump and fire a bow at a 10 percent penalty on max mana.
Aquatic Shot allows you to use a bow under water at a 5 percent penalty on max mana.
Mage-Killer will give you bonus damage against users wielding a staff but completely blocks your ability to use elemental, arcane, and necromancy magic.

Rage, a high mana cost skill that will temporarily buff your resistances to magic while at the same time giving you some healing.

Wildlife Additions

This new type of AI will be roaming throughout the world and react quite differently then their aggressive counterparts. We have also been told that those will be quite numerous and spread in much bigger radius and areas not limited by any artificial camp range.
The idea behind these new type of AI is of course to add to the immersion while the same time creating new ways of gathering resources.

CONFIRMED the wildlife creatures that we mentioned in a previous spotlight article will be introduced to the game with the upcoming expansion.
The wildlife creatures of Darkfall will be non aggressive and they will be found in every corner of Agon
Running away is the only defense they have, so expect to do some proper hunting.
Once killed, these creatures will provide the aspiring hunters with resources like leather and meat, essentially becoming a new resource gathering node of sorts. Also some of these animals, depending on their actual real life habits, will form packs and follow a pack leader around. Those packs will of course scatter and run away when they are attacked.
The monsters of the world will interact with these animals as well. Some will attack and kill them, while others will protect and even heal them.

New sea monsters are being introduced in this expansion, such as the legendary Kraken. These sea monsters will be able to attack ships, and even destroy them.
We’ve also filled the world with wildlife which will hone individual player skills and now and then they’ll even drop epic loot.

SEA TOWERS:
Two Sea Towers, one in the North and one in the South Seas.
become vulnerable at specific time intervals and stay that way until a clan captures them.
The only way to capture them is by using ships, but the Towers have their own protection. Powerful cannons stand out on their battlements threatening any ship that comes within range. These cannons can be used by anyone so the defenders will need to protect them.
The remaining time for the Towers to become vulnerable will be displayed on the world map.
Substantial material rewards for the clan controlling the Sea Towers.

CLAN STATIONS:
In every starting city, capital cities, as well as in some chaos cities, new These stations will display the name of the clan controlling the corresponding Sea Tower for all to see.
Any player that isn’t part of a clan already can use these structures to effortlessly apply for membership to the clans holding the Sea Towers.
Around fifty locations around Agon will serve as Clan stations.

SEA VILLAGES:
Built all around Agon’s seas, providing additional housing for the growing population and more potential income sources for the clans that control them. Sea Villages provide great strategic advantages and a base of operation when trying to control the seas or capture a Sea Tower.

Ship builders will not only have a much easier time finding the resources needed to build ships, they will also notice that their banks will be substantially less drained when it comes to overall building costs.
Ships have more obvious speed differences depending on their type, on top of all of the ships now traveling faster in general.
Out-swimming a ship won't be an option anymore not only due to the speed changes but also due to the fact that the swimmer will notice that he or she will tire faster. Even swimming normally will prove to be a straining undertaking.
Players who got stuck on the side of a ship will get properly pushed away and not follow the ships movement directly while hiding from the cannons. That little raft trying to block your vessel? Just push it out of the way.
You will also notice that ship cannons provide more BOOM for the buck. Or in other words, their damage has been increased.
There will be old and new dangers in the water.

Vendors are unlocked as house extensions which means you will have to find them before you can add one to your house.
You can not only add items to sell and set individual prices for either single objects or stacks of objects, you can create categories and name them to your hearts content so your customers have a more convenient browsing experience.
Adding items to your vendor won't cost any money and you can switch them around, take them off and reprice them at any time. However when you sell an item, a little fee is deducted from the selling price
They can also not be used by other players or friends to sell their own things
The Vendor will have a limit of items you can put up

To address one of your concerns: You will be able to chose to either pay the price for the item directly from your backpack or you can chose to pay more safely from your personal bank account which will however add an additional fee to the price.

This service will allow you to clip, trim and accessorize your character with new looks and bling for a reasonable price in gold. To begin with, the feature will only offer the existing styles for a player to re-customize. However, this is only the first step and there are plans to implement many new looks, styles and features in the not to distant future, including ones that will not be available through the original character creation.

a new player owned house type available. We learned that the Keep is a new player owned house that is considerably bigger then the villa. By applying the right items in the Keep, you can increase its friend slots to ten friends, making it an ideal home for small clans or groups of friends.

Crafting will also receive a bit more attention as the related skills will skill up faster when making higher rank items. This already happens for weapon crafting but now this will also apply to more crafting skills such as armor smithing and alchemy.

Spells
a system that will apply a cool down to spells depending on their use. So, when casting a high damage AOE spell for example, all your AOE's will have a cool down applied.

Skill Extensions
The skill extensions will focus mostly (but not exclusively) on melee and ranged combat. Some examples are Rage, a high mana cost skill that will temporarily buff your resistances to magic while at the same time giving you some healing. Disabling Shot and Disabling Blow will interrupt an enemy and disable their blocking skill for a given time.
Another skill extension currently in testing is called Spotter. Spotter would enable you to identify other players from great distances.

AI Changes
The first major AI overhaul for Darkfall and one that will change the PvE aspect of the game quite a bit.
Addressed a series of AI bugs such as monsters de-spawning suddenly among others
Monsters have been rebalanced in such a way that now, players will need to use a variety of tactics, depending on what they are fighting, to be victorious.
Monsters will now have different weaknesses and strengths that players will need to figure out. Some examples of this diversification of the monsters include skeletons being more resistant to piercing damage while being very susceptible to bludgeoning damage and fire elementals being next to immune to fire damage while ice damage will do the job a lot better.
reconfiguration of the AI that will make the monsters react differently on player actions, making them a lot harder to outsmart.
The health of many monsters has been reduced so that the PvE experience will be more challenging and diverse but not frustrating.
The loot of many of the monsters has been increased to be in accordance to the increased challenge they will pose and it will also be more random so that every kill will not provide you with the exact same items every time.
De-buffing will play a much more important role in exposing a monster's weakness.

Wie etwa die verkleinerte Ausgabe der ClanCityTowers... dies wird es ab Donnerstag (also morgen) auch für die Hamlets (kleine ClanDörfer) geben.



(wenn ich mir die changes so anschauen..mhm gibt kaum nen Game was mit Darkfall mithalten kann...vlt.. EVE Online noch)

aso bevor ichs vergesse Tasos meinte in dem QnA für Conquer the Seas folgendes:

we’re also working on a massive Darkfall project, something coming in a few months that will literally change the face of this game.

Das riecht nach einem Grafik Update für Darkfall, wer sich in der Materie auskennt, weis das Aventurine und Nvidia mitlerweile zusammen arbeit und bereits Grafiktreiber für SLI konzipieren.
