Reforging: I've noticed a bunch of comments here on the blog about people reforging their haste into mastery and losing dps. I spent a good 2 hours on the target dummies testing reforging scenarios pretty exhaustively, in very controlled situations (no one else at dummy, no proc gear, large enough stat swings to get more obvious changes, a dozen 5-minute tests with each configuration, identical gear & glyphs & buffs from test to test, then used the total data to do some number crunching as well). Here is what I learned:Reforging haste into mastery was a clear dps increase, in every spec. I know this conflicts with what some have said in the comments, and I don't know what their methodology was, but there was no test I did that was ever in doubt. The difference is small with only a 8% haste swing, certainly, but still outside the margin of error and the math backed it up. 1 mastery rating seems clearly better than 1 haste rating. I then tried reforging crit into mastery. The results here were more varied by spec, and most of them were within the margin of error. It appeared to be a slight dps loss to reforge crit into mastery, but again, every result was within the margin of error. It could have actually been a tiny gain.
From all this testing it looks like right now mastery is clearly a better stat than haste. Crit and mastery seem to be very close to each other in value, from which we can deduce that crit is also better than haste. So haste still appears to be our worst stat (which is logical considering the numbers — our base focus regen is just too low) but it's still much, much better than it was.
